Introducing the 2026 Classic Collection: Bigger Beds, Smarter Layouts

Posted on2025-12-11 by

Hello 2026. Goodbye, Sleeping Diagonally.

The 2026 Classic Collection is live. After a year of listening to hundreds of van owners tell us what really matters, we've updated our most popular kits with the upgrades you actually asked for. Bigger beds. Smarter storage. Easier assembly. Same fair prices. Here's everything that's new.

The Kit Upgrade You've Been Asking For: Wider Beds
For years, customers told us they loved our Large Sliding Bed (B130)–130cm wide, converts to a bench or L-sofa, massive storage underneath. But there was one problem: it was too wide to fit alongside our range of side cabinets.
The math was simple: L1 vans are typically 181.5 cm wide inside. Our old A2 and A3 side cabinets were 40cm deep, so the bed needed to be 120cm wide.
We used to offer a kit with the wider bed and no side cabinet, but it wasn’t very popular. Most of you (wisely) wanted the side cabinet with its super-useful pop-up table. But we knew many of you would have appreciated that extra 10cm of bed width. So, early this year we introduced two 'Slim' versions of the A2 and A3 side units – 30cm deep cabinets that made room for the bigger bed. Too skinny for a water kit, maybe, but now at least you had a choice.
But we weren't satisfied. You wanted the bigger bed and a proper side cabinet with full water kit compatibility. So did we. Why should comfort and functionality be a trade-off?

The 2026 Solution
So, we redesigned the side cabinets from the ground up.
Meet the A2v2 and A3v2–each 5cm slimmer than its predecessor, but still with generous storage and still compatible with our water kits. Now the B130 fits perfectly in most* medium-sized vans, giving you that extra 10cm of sleeping width without sacrificing a single drawer or shelf.
No more choosing. No more compromises.

*Except the narrower Expert/Jumpy. These kits ship with our standard B120 bed.

Two Layouts. Two Priorities.

With the 2026 Collection, L1 van owners finally get to choose what matters most.
If storage is your priority, go with the Standard Sliding Bed (120cm) + A4 Large Side Cabinet (available in our Roamer and Nomad kits). The A4 gives you 50% more storage capacity than the A3v2–substantial space for extended trips or full-time living. The 120cm bed is comfortable for most sleepers, and you'll use that extra cabinet space every day.

If sleep quality and space matter most, choose the Large Sliding Bed (130cm) + A2v2 Compact Side Cabinet (available in Minimalist V2 and Drifter V2). That extra 10cm of bed width means real shoulder room and stretch-out space–no more diagonal sleeping, no more waking up pressed against the wall. The A2v2 is slimmer (35cm vs 40cm), but still packs in 305 litres of storage, a pop-up table, and full water kit compatibility. You're not sacrificing functionality–you're optimising for comfort.

Two new L2 kits for LWB vans

If you’ve got a long-wheelbase van, you shouldn’t have to choose between bed width and storage. With our new L2 range, you get both.
Both The Voyager and The Legend include a 130cm wide Large Sliding Bed and the spacious A3v2 side cabinet – a solid setup for real comfort and smart gear space. The difference comes down to how much kitchen storage you want.
The Voyager keeps things simple: the large slider bed and our A3v2 large side cabinet with its XL pop-up table. Ideal if you want room to move and freedom to add extras later.
The Legend is the fully-equipped version. You get the same bed and side cabinet, plus the C6, a large front kitchen unit with proper cupboard space, ventilated appliance storage, and a very smart pull-out kitchen drawer with space for a camping stove and a fold-out work surface. Made for longer trips and bigger meal prep.
What Else Is New?
The new A2/A3 v2 cabinets aren’t just slimmer – they’re smarter to build. We’ve added pre-drilled hinge holes so doors line up cleanly without the usual trial and error. Push-lock alignment guides help the latches click into place first time, and simple basin cut-out markings make adding a sink far less intimidating. The internal layout now also accommodates our updated water kits more cleanly, with easier access for everyday use and maintenance.
Everything You Love, Still Here
All the things people love about our Classic kits are still firmly in place. They fit almost every medium-sized van on the road – from Transporters to Trafics – while staying lightweight enough to keep fuel costs down. They’re designed for DIY builds, with most installs only needing a screwdriver and wood glue, and every hinge and fastener included right in the box. And the same conversion pros who’ve been choosing Simple Vans for years are still choosing us now. Even with rising material costs across the industry, we’ve kept our pricing fair – because at the end of the day, our mission is to make vanlife accessible without compromising on quality.
