The Weekender – Compact Freedom for Small Vans

If you've ever looked at your little van and thought, "There's a tiny camper hiding in here…" – you were right. The Weekender turns small vans into big-adventure machines, giving you everything you need for spontaneous escapes, last-minute overnighters, and lazy weekend road trips.

Lightweight, modular, and cleverly designed for the Citroën Berlingo 2 and Peugeot Partner 2, it maximises every centimetre of the Berlingo/Partner's compact cargo area without making your van feel cramped.

At the heart of the kit is our redesigned B4 V2 Compact Sliding Bed. Purpose-built for small vans, it converts quickly from a comfortable bench into a compact sleeping setup using a 160 × 112 cm mattress, with around 196 cm of diagonal sleeping length. That makes it surprisingly practical for solo travellers and cosy couples, especially in a short-roof micro camper where every centimetre counts.

The B4 V2 is also headroom optimised, with a low 33 cm height that gives you a more comfortable seated position inside the van. It has been carefully shaped to fit the internal cabin walls of most supported models, meaning no cutting is required in most vans. It is also designed to work without removing the bulkhead, keeping the build simple, practical and VASP-friendly.

Storage has had a major rethink too. The B4 V2 provides almost 200 L of storage across multiple compartments, including a dedicated corner for a Boxio compost toilet, a top-access electric cooler compartment that fits most standard 15 L models, and a discreet 30 L side compartment running along the van wall for the essentials you want hidden but close to hand.

Next to the bed sits the A1 V2 Compact Side Unit – a slimline storage hero designed specifically for micro vans. At just 28 cm deep, it keeps precious interior width free while still delivering around 160 L of storage, space for up to 2 × 12 L water tanks, and a useful work surface for prepping snacks, organising gear, or placing your morning coffee somewhere that isn't technically your lap.

Assembly is easier than ever thanks to the V2's improved build system, including pre-drilled hinge holes and push-lock alignment slots that help doors and latches sit exactly where they should. Less measuring, less fiddling, less "why is this 3mm off?"

Like all Simple Vans furniture, the Weekender is built from lightweight, strong poplar plywood and supplied in raw wood so you can finish it your way – oil it, varnish it, paint it, or keep the clean natural look.

Designed and tested for the Citroën Berlingo 2 (2008–2018) and Peugeot Partner 2 (2008–2018). These platform twins share the same cabin dimensions, so the Weekender fits both without modification.
