We don't update our beds for the sake of it. The B4 V2 exists because small van owners kept telling us the same things: they wanted more storage space, more headroom, and to be even easier to build. We listened, went back to the drawing board, and came back with something genuinely better.
The headline change is a 4.5cm reduction in height. That doesn't sound like much until you're sitting up in bed in a Berlingo at 6am. The lower profile gives you a real improvement in headroom, without touching the structure of your vehicle. For those of you under 166cm – you can now sit up straight in your van.
It's also 3cm shorter: a deliberate choice to keep the bed VASP compliant with no bulkhead removal required. And no, that doesn't mean you lose proper sleeping space. The 161 x 112cm mattress gives a diagonal sleeping length of around 196cm, so even campers up to around 6ft can sleep diagonally in comfort – impressive for a compact L1 van setup.
Storage has been properly rethought too. The V1 had no meaningful side access. The B4 V2 now has two hinged lids, both opening into a shared 30-litre side compartment that's ideal for keeping essentials handy and out of sight. The front storage area is divided into two top-access sections, perfect for a composting toilet and an electric cooler.
The main rear storage section includes side and rear openings, so you can add optional storage drawers or even our D8 kitchen drawer – a telescopic unit that lets you open the rear doors and cook outside.
The B4 V2 is also the first Tiny bed to carry over the assembly improvements introduced with the 2026 Classic collection. Pre-drilled hinge holes help doors sit straight on the first attempt. Push-lock alignment slots place your latches exactly where they need to go. It's the same cleaner build system, scaled down for a smaller van.
Finally, we improved fit. The bed is contoured to match the internal cabin wall shape of all supported van models, so no cutting is needed for a clean fit, with one exception: VW Caddy owners will still need to make a simple cut around the rear door column.
If you have a long-wheelbase small van – like a Kangoo Gen 3 LWB, Berlingo XL, Partner Long, or similar – and want more sleeping length, the B120 + A1 combination is the better choice.
