One bed, two collections, one new website (and a couple of goodbyes): what's new at Simple Vans this November
Grab a brew.
On Thursday 12 November, simplevans.eu gets a fresh look, and lots of fresh new gear: a new sliding bed, new kits for long-wheelbase (L2) compact and medium vans, new kitchens, and two old favourites heading off into the sunset. Here's the quick tour.
A new website, built around your questions
Every kit and unit gets its own page, with the facts up front: dimensions, weight, assembly time and the tools you'll need. There's a DIY level on every page too, on a scale where building your own furniture from scratch is 10, so you know the size of the project before the box lands on your doorstep. Our Van Selector still does the matchmaking: designed for your van model, confirm the fit before you order.
Meet Slide
Slide is the latest generation of our modular sliding bed, which won a European Product Design Award in 2026. Yes, a bed. With a trophy.
We could have framed the certificate and put our feet up. Instead, we went back to the workshop with five years of feedback from more than 3,000 beds on the road, and asked what we'd change.
The answer became Slide:
• Easier to build. Fewer parts to sort and a simpler assembly. A screwdriver, wood glue and tape are all you need, plus a jigsaw for a few simple cuts in many vans.
• Easier to adjust. Bench by day, sofa by afternoon, bed by night. Each section sets up on the driver's or the passenger's side, so Slide suits left- and right-hand-drive vans, whichever side your sliding door isn't on.
• More headroom. At 33.5 cm high, Slide sits lower than our previous beds for medium vans. Sit up straight, it's allowed now.
• More options. Gliss drawers that roll out from under the bed, and our redesigned Slide Kitchen, an outdoor kitchen that extends out of the van's rear door(s). Pancakes al fresco, anyone?
• One bed, two collections. Think of Slide as very grown-up building blocks. It's built from three modules: a 110 cm section, a 70 cm section and a fixed bench. Put them together three ways, as the Slide Compact Bench, Slide Standard Bench and Slide Standard, and the same bed works across Simple TINY and Simple CLASSIC. The bench started life in our compact-van bed and has gone up in the world since: it now runs across both collections, with room inside for a cooler, a battery or a camping toilet like a Boxio.
More room for compact long-wheelbase vans (L2)
Simple TINY has had a growth spurt. It now stretches into compact long-wheelbase vans (L2), like the Citroën Berlingo Van XL, Peugeot Partner Long, Renault Kangoo Van L2 and VW Caddy Cargo Maxi.
Two new kits, one happy dilemma: open space or storage?
Weekender XL: a bench up front, a slim side cabinet beside the bed and a 110 cm wide bed. The Weekender's big brother, now with legroom.
Trekker: a 130 cm wide bed and the most free floor in the range. Go Deluxe and the Slide Kitchen extends out of the rear door(s): dinner, now with a view.
The original Weekender moves onto Slide too, with the Slide Compact Bench for compact L1 vans. All three kits are ready in a day.
New kitchens
K1 front kitchen: the new heart of the Drifter, with a cooler drawer included and a home for your power station, close enough to the cab to charge from the van.
K5 rear kitchen: the heart of the new Cruiser, made for cooking at the back, with a pop-up worktop and a bay for your fridge. Open the rear doors and the kitchen's open for business. Making way: the Roamer and the Nomad Out with the old: the Roamer and the Nomad retire this November. The Roamer hands the keys to the Cruiser: a Slide Standard Bench, our side table unit and the new K5 rear kitchen. Every part is new, so it earned a new name. As for the Nomad, watch this space: rumour has it the design team elves are already plotting its successor. Our previous beds make way for Slide too. Already have one? The drawers made for them stay on sale until the end of April 2027, and a real person answers within 48 hours through our contact page if you need anything.

Always a work in progress
The beds that won us an award were already our fourth go at the idea. Slide is the next one, and there's more to come: every kit we send out comes back to us as feedback, and the best of it ends up in the next version. That's the deal with modular furniture. It moves with you, and it keeps getting better.
Early birds, take note: our prices change at most once a year, in January, and we always give you notice. Order any Simple CLASSIC kit by 7 January 2027 and you still pay 2026 prices. From 8 January, the 2027 prices apply.
